What is a Giant Pride Pass?
The Giant Pride Pass is a courtesy pass that is given to the senior members of our school community in recognition of their long-term investment in our young people and our schools.
What benefits are available to holders of the Giant Pride Pass?
Cardholders receive a return on their investment in our schools in the form of FREE ADMISSION to all District 19 school sponsored activities.
Who is eligible for Giant Pride Pass privileges?
The only requirements for eligibility are:
- Residency in District 19
- 60 years of age or older
How often must the Giant Pride Pass be renewed?
Never! Your pass is valid for as long as you remain a resident of District 19.
What specific kinds of activities are covered under the Giant Pride Pass?
Regular season home athletic events, plays, musicals, concerts and other programs sponsored by each of our schools are included. Just present your card at the door.
Are there limitations or restrictions on the usage of the pass?
We are sorry but regulations prohibit us from honoring the Giant Pride Pass at post-season events and special tournaments sponsored by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) at Alden-Hebron High School.
How can cardholders find out about upcoming events they might want to attend?
Schedules are mailed or emailed each semester to everyone who has a Giant Pride Pass.
Cardholders who have access to the Internet can check the Athletic Page on the district’s website at www.alden-hebron.org.
How does one obtain a Giant Pride Pass?
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may stop by any of the schools or the District Office to apply for your card. If you prefer, you may telephone District 19 at 815-648-2442 x 1526 to request an application by mail. You will be given your Giant Pride Pass as soon as we receive your completed application.
The Alden-Hebron Community Consolidated School District 19 Operation Recognition program honors veterans of foreign wars by awarding diplomas to those who left high school to join the armed forces.
In January 2002, a law was established to authorize Illinois school districts to award honorary high school diplomas to honorably discharged veterans of World War II and the Korean Conflict, as specified in Public Act 92-446.
In July 2009, the law was revised to further authorize school districts to award honorary high school diplomas to honorably discharged Vietnam veterans, as specified by Public Act 96-0088.
