The Alden-Hebron District 19 Board of Education is proud to announce that at the August 7th Board of Education meeting, Dr. Debbie Ehlenburg was hired as the part-time, 120-day Interim Superintendent.  The Board will be making a decision in the future for a permanent replacement. The board is pleased to rehire Dr. Ehlenburg on a part time basis in order to provide continuity and administrative training for the district’s staff and provide support to the community.  This move provides the district with a part time Superintendent, a full-time principal who serves both the Middle School and the High School, as well as a full-time administrator serving 80% as Elementary principal and 20% as Assistant Superintendent. Currently, there is no timeline established to hire a permanent full time Superintendent.  The current plan will save the district money in administrative salaries and benefits while providing the District with excellent and experienced administration at all levels. Dr. Ehlenburg retired after serving twelve years as Superintendent and thirty-three years in the district.  Her retirement provisions dictate her employment date and the number of days she is allowed to work during a fiscal year.
