The MCC Scholarship Application is due on April 1st – only 2 weeks away!
We encourage seniors attending MCC in the Fall to submit the general scholarship application, and all eligible supplemental scholarships (such as the full-ride, High Impact Scholarships) by April 1st.
Here are instructions for Fall 2025 students to apply for scholarships:
Visit www.mchenry.edu/scholarships
Sign in to the application using the MCC username and password. If students need assistance retrieving their student username and password, they should call the MCC IT Help Desk at (815) 455-8457.
Fill out the General Application and submit (the students can go back into their General Application to make updates until the deadline)
Once the General Application is submitted, eligible applicants see additional scholarship opportunities to follow-up and apply/submit those applications. Many of these additional scholarships will be the larger awards – including the High Impact Scholarships.
High Impact Scholarships – Eligible students haven’t applied
---There are many students who are eligible to apply for the High Impact Scholarships but have not done so – the Foundation office is emailing all eligible students at their MCC Student Email to let them know that they are eligible and should complete the supplemental applications by April 1st.
Students --check the MCC Student Email weekly for important updates! Students sign into their MCC Student Email at www.mchenry.edu/mymcc. If students need assistance retrieving their student username and password, they should call the MCC IT Help Desk at (815) 455-8457.
As of today, our full-ride High Impact Scholarships applicant totals include:
Board of Trustees – 10 applied – 38 are showing eligible (completed the general scholarship, and have not applied to this scholarship)
Follett Educational Foundation: Four Brothers Scholarship – 18 applied – 35 are showing eligible (completed the general scholarship, and have not applied to this scholarship)
Founding Faculty Scholarship – 18 applied – 136 are showing eligible (completed the general scholarship, and have not applied to this scholarship)
Presidential Talent Scholarship – 5 applied – 29 are showing eligible (completed the general scholarship, and have not applied to this scholarship)
Future MCC students, check your email weekly! As mentioned, the Foundation is reaching out to these students at their MCC email.
Scholarship Application Workshop:
The Admissions team is hosting a Fall Scholarship Application Workshop over Spring Break; details are below. The Admissions team will help students jump into the scholarship and work through it – starting, polishing, and/or submitting the scholarship application. Students may stay for as long as they wish during this time span. We can also help on a 1-1 basis. MCC is open during Spring Break week on Monday - Wednesday 3/24-3/26. The college is closed 3/27-3/28.

The DAR Good Citizen award recognizes and rewards high school seniors who exemplify good citizenship. Students who have been selected display dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities to an outstanding measure. Rileigh possesses the qualities of a good citizen. Richmond-Spring Grove Area Rotary (RSGAR)
2025 Scholarship Application Reminder to AHHS Seniors:
Eligibility
The RSGAR scholarship is available to any graduating Senior from Richmond-Burton Community High School and Alden-Hebron High School provided they have been accepted by an accredited vocational school, college (2 or 4 year), or university. Acceptance is not expected at the time of application, but acceptance is required prior to the tendering of the monetary award.
The Scholarship Award
The RSGAR Scholarship provides for awards of $1,500.00 per scholarship recipient. Scholarship recipients will receive their monetary award of $1,500.00 at a RSGA Rotary Club dinner meeting or another approved event. This is a one-time award to be distributed in June 2025 to the student.

Career Spark offers OPPORTUNITY FOR AHHS JUNIORS:
I am so excited to share that we will be hosting two sections of the EKG Technician Training specifically for McHenry County high school students this summer! This is a fully grant funded opportunity.
Students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, this is an amazing opportunity for them to earn a healthcare certification before they even graduate high school.
To qualify, students...
-Must be completing high school by August 2026.
-Complete the attached High School Grade Verification Form
-Must have a grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
-Form must be signed by the student, parent or guardian, and school counselor/principal
-One letter of recommendation from a teacher or staff member at your high school
Submissions can be sent to careerspark@mchenry.edu. Please have all submissions in by April 15th. Students will be notified of acceptance by May 1st.

Mower County Fair Recieves a Giant Check from Compeer Financial Team Members
A Growing Need for Accessibility
The Crane Pavilion Livestock Arena is a vital facility for the Mower County Fair in Austin, Minnesota, serving as a multifunctional space for livestock exhibitions, educational programs and community gatherings. When the lack of handrails in the arena led to safety and accessibility concerns, fair organizers applied for our grant to have them installed.
“This investment reflects our commitment to serving the needs of our community and ensuring the fairgrounds remain a vibrant hub for agricultural education, entertainment and community engagement now and in the future.”
