On January 30th, the AH Advising Department hosted an MCC dual credit informational presentation and MCC opportunities to all interested future 9th - 12th grade students.

COMMUNITY NEWS: Meet MCC is March 20th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Our biggest event of the year – all MCC programs and student services will be represented for students and families to meet at this in-person open house. All ages and community members are welcome to this free event. Students can apply to the college for free. We will be highlighting our new Foglia Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation building (CATI), new programs such as HVAC and Robotics, Automation, and Mechatronics, and our new University Center at MCC - all starting in Fall 2024.

AHHS: On Wednesday, six FFA students went to Central High School to compete in a Meat Science and Vet Science competition.
The meat science team had to identify cuts of meat, quality grade, and rank carcasses. Our team of four placed 5th in the overall competition!
The vet science team had to identify animals and pests, calculate proper medication prescriptions, and perform clinical procedures seen in the veterinary office.
The FFA is looking forward to more competitions this spring!

HS Boys are going to Earlville for a 5:30 start. Boys JV will be a shortened game so varsity will probably start around 6:30. AHHS: During the month of November, Tech Campus sponsored its first Student Showcase Contest. Students were asked to create an image, display, product, or video that highlights how Tech Campus helps them "Imagine Their Possibilities" within their program. LCTC staff members voted for the winner.
Vivian Rodriguez, a junior from Alden-Hebron High School, was the first-place winner. Vivian’s drawing will be highlighted during Tech Campus’s 9th Annual Career Expo and her submission will be used along with our Career Expo Marketing Materials.

*** Tuesday 1/16 HS Wrestling Match is on as scheduled at Harvard tonight. We will leave at 3:50, wrestling starts at 5:00. All practices are on as scheduled for tonight MSGB 3:00-5:00, MSWR 5:00-7:00, HSGB 5:00-7:00 & HSBB 7:00-9:00. ***

Community News: D155 is hosting its 2nd annual Health Expo, which will be held at Crystal Lake Central on Wednesday, February 7th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
This free event is open to all middle and high school students across McHenry County, as well as their parents. We expect around 50 organizations to be present, covering various aspects of healthcare. It's a great chance for students to explore potential careers in the field.
Great opportunity if your student is interested in a healthcare field/career!!!
