Alden Hebron District 19: We are aware that there will be a temporary service interruption due to ComEd performing maintenance on the electrical system in our area. The interruption is currently scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2020 within the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm. The temporary interruption is expected to last approximately 120 minutes. This will not affect everyone, however, if this interrupts your child(ren) learning please let main office know. __ Distrito 19 de Alden Hebron: Somos conscientes de que habrá una interrupción temporal del servicio debido a que ComEd realiza mantenimiento en el sistema eléctrico en nuestra área. Tradition has been that District 19 honors our Veterans with an assembly. Due to our situation, we will be providing you with a virtual Veterans Day video. Watch for the video link to be posted at 9am Wednesday, November 11th where we can honor our Veterans together as a community. Good Afternoon, District 19 has 3 new positive cases of COVID for a total of 7 confirmed. As a result we have several individuals required to quarantine presenting challenges to operating in person. The people that need to know have already been contacted. Therefore, if no one has spoken to you personally, this doesn't affect you and there is no need for concern. All steps and protocols have been taken and are being followed. We wanted to remind you that we aim to remain transparent and informative through this process. We appreciate your continued flexibility during this time. Please be vigilant in understanding the procedure for determining when our school community must be informed of a positive COVID case. We will only notify those individuals who are considered close contacts to a positive case. It is critical that we not disclose positive cases to anyone other than those being directly impacted or at risk. November 9, 2020 Dear parent or guardian: Unfortunately, due to positive COVID cases and contact tracing we have decided to implement what the IDPH calls an “adaptive pause” on hybrid learning. Beginning Tuesday, November 10, District 19 will move to a remote learning model. For more information about what an adaptive pause means according to the IDPH, please refer to page 3 of the following document. https://www.isbe.net/Documents/IDPH-Adaptive-Pause-Metrics.pdf It has been important to our Administration and Board of Education to be able to provide families with a choice in learning model for their child(ren) throughout this pandemic. We are all in agreement that face-to-face teaching and learning is what is best for our students and we are all disappointed to have to temporarily suspend in-person instruction. It is our hope that we will be able to resume our hybrid model in the future. However, as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our staff, students and families, an adaptive pause is what is currently appropriate. It is essential that parents and guardians continue to call and report illnesses to our school nurse at (815) 648-1608. Students will be expected to log-in to the 1st hour class 7:40 and their 5th hour class at 10:38 for attendance purposes only. The rest of this time will be asynchronous learning and students are expected to catch up on missing work or complete work that is assigned on Thursday. Teachers will be available to assist students. Please e-mail the teacher if you need assistance. Individual times will be set-up to help students using the office hours link. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school office.
