AHMS: 8th Grade ELA learns to “Synergize”
-Eighth graders have been reading and discussing Sean Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens during the first month of school.
-As a part of their book study, Mrs. Kolnik’s ELA classes participated in a variety of team-building exercises meant to strengthen their ability to “SYNERGIZE”. They learned that, “Together we can do much more than we could separately.”-Helen Keller

**High School Volleyball Game on Monday, September 20th vs Elgin Academy has been postponed to Monday, October 11th.

Please join us TONIGHT to celebrate Alden-Hebron High School's 2021 Homecoming!! We will kick off festivities this evening with the parade at 5:30, Middle School Flag Football at 6:30, and the Powderpuff game at 7:30. Join us afterwards at the bonfire, where we will be crowning Homecoming King and Queen, along with the winners of the coveted Spirit Jug.
Then, the High School Varsity Football game is at 2:00 on Saturday, with our outdoor dance beginning at 7:00.

AHMS: Mrs. Venard's Forensic Science Enrichment is using fingerprints to solve a staged theft.


Students in Mrs. Walters' 4th Grade class practiced "How To" writing by writing the steps to blowing a bubble and then created a self portrait to accompany the project.

COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS: Western IL University rep visited AHHS. Students were able to ask questions and obtain more information about the majors offered. AH has several WIU graduates including Ms. Kanaly.


AHMS: Mrs. Veneziano's 6th Grade Science classes worked on an excavation project.


Northwestern Medicine Discovery Program application is open for the 2021-2022 school year. The application closes on Friday, October 1st.
Students interested in participating in the Discovery Program Northwest Chapter must meet the following eligibility requirements:
-Be at least 15 years of age
-Be a resident of McHenry County
-Be entering sophomore or junior year of high school
-Have an academic GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale or 3.8 on a 5.0 GPA scale
-Commit to the program, including attendance at all Discovery Program meetings
-Commit to abide by all Discovery Program guidelines and policies
Submit the completed student application to the appropriate chapter
