We are ON for a return to the Tryon Grove site, the newest site on the Hackmatack refuge, for a stewardship day this Sunday, October 8th from 9 to Noon!
Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and please bring your own drinking water. Protective clothing such as long pants (not leggings) are recommended. We’ll have hand tools, workgloves, safety glasses, and a few snacks. The Tryon Grove site is on the north side of Tryon Grove Road, 1.5 miles west of the intersection with Routes 12 and 31. If you are familiar with our Tamarack West site, the Tryon Grove site is across the road and a bit further west (and on the north side of Tryon Grove Road). There is plenty of room for parking after you pull into the site; be careful when entering and exiting the site (oncoming traffic may be shielded from view).
An RSVP is appreciated, so if you know you will be attending please give me a heads up. We are hoping to have students from Alden-Hebron and Richmond-Burton High Schools attend! If you are under age 18 , you will need a parent or guardian to sign the form sent to your school email or located in HS Office, indicating that you are authorized to attend; you can either email the signed form back to me or bring it to the workday. (You do not need to sign, just your parent/guardian.) Note that some parts of this form are left blank. Take particular care to ensure your parent or guardian completes the contact information, parental consent section, and emergency contact section and signs it. The sections to be completed are 1-19 and 28-36.

The College Fair at McHenry County College is coming, October 5th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. This is an IACAC Regional College Fair representing over 100 colleges and universities.
