We need your help! Volunteers Needed this Sunday, November 20th from 9 a.m. to Noon.
This is a great opportunity to earn your volunteer hours. Remember, you need 25 volunteer hours to be "College & Career" ready your junior/senior year and you need 80 volunteer hours to earn your Giant Pride Volunteer Service cord at graduation.
We are going to continue our work at Tamarack West, located on the south side of Tryon Grove Road 1.2 miles west of the intersection of Routes 12 and 31. We are already opening up a beautiful view of Glacial Park to the south, and though our volunteer groups have been small, we are making good progress. We are hopeful that we will have a number of students from the Alden-Hebron High School. We invite everyone to come help build the refuge by cutting some brush or hauling a few branches to the pile.
A map to the Tamarack West site from the intersection of Routes 12 and 31 is shown here: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/42.4508804,-88.3058755/42.4466615,-88.3285283/@42.4468109,-88.3251326,1556m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e0 Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and please bring your own drinking water. We’ll have hand tools, work gloves, safety glasses, and some snacks. For those who may be attending who are under age 18, you will need a parent or guardian to sign the form indicating that you are authorized to attend; you can bring it to the workday. (You do not need to sign, just your parent/guardian.) The form is located in the AH Office.
As always, if there is any question of weather, please check in with Pete Jackson at 224-612-1803 if you have a question. We hope to see you out at Tamarack West! Pete Jackson Friends of Hackmatack Board
