Where: Outside at Alden-Hebron Elementary School
Time: 2:00-4:00
For: Pre-K through 5th grade students and their families
There will be music, games, trunk-or-treating, and a costume contest!
There will also be a “Hoops” food truck where you will have the opportunity to purchase pizza, soda, and water.
Donations will be accepted for this event, with all proceeds
benefitting the Hebron Community Food Pantry.

AHHS: Reminder to the students who signed up to take the PSAT/NMSQT test. The test is tomorrow, Wednesday, October 13th.
Please report to Room 104, by 7:40am. The pre-admin. & test should be done around 11:30-11:45ish. Don't forget that you were to inform/remind your teachers and seek out what will be missed---this is especially important for LCTC and MCC students.

Middle School Lakes Region Volleyball Tournament starts tonight at North Prairie. We play North Prairie at 6:00pm.
Bus time is 3:45pm.

Per Alden-Hebron District #19 handbook page 23, students who have negative lunch balances will not be able to purchase ala carte items, this includes any additional milk. If your student has a negative balance, they will be denied any ala carte items and may only receive a school lunch.

AH Alumni News: A-H Alumna Stephanie Reiter, a 2019 AHHS Graduate, Returns to Host Discussion About College Experiences
--Stephanie is a junior at Western IL University where she majors in Agricultural Science, is a double minor in Agronomy and Precision Agriculture, is an Agronomy Research Assistant, and a WIU Student Ambassador.
--AHHS invites all alumni to come back and speak to interested freshman-seniors. The alumni provide advice on making the transition from high school to college smoother, share tips that they have learned as college students, and take part in an informal question & answer session. Academic Advisor, Davina VanderPal, organized the event. She said, “Alumni can be a powerful tool in connecting current students to college. I am thankful that our graduates are able to come back and help current students think about their futures.”

Attention AH Seniors/Parents: District 19 will hold its annual FAFSA Completion Workshop at Alden-Hebron High School- Room 106, Wednesday, Oct. 13th, from 5-7 PM.
FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Families interested in attending are asked to contact Mrs. VanderPal at 815-648-2442 or email davanderpal@ah19.org.
Representatives from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, who are trained in the specific details of the FAFSA, will be at AHHS that night to answer questions and help families complete the process.
Families are encouraged to create their Federal Student Aid identification numbers prior to the appointment and to begin the FAFSA. A separate FSA ID is required for a parent and for the student.

AHHS: College & Career Lunch and Learn sessions are held in the high school hallway from 10:54- 11:24 a.m. Students have the opportunity to learn about various colleges, career options, job and military opportunities, majors/certifications to pursue, and ask the representatives questions.

AHMS: --In a presentation and engaging activity, 6th and 7th grade students connected post-secondary education with career options. The brief presentation introduced students to ways they can identify their interests, explore related careers, and the basics of post-secondary education--including how to prepare in high school. The interactive activity encouraged exploration of education and training after high school, future careers, and money management.
